Crystal Wong is currently completing a BA(Hons) Music degree at the School of Contemporary Music, LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore. She is being trained as a vocalist in Popular Music.

 

After spending her teen years performing with her church’s Youth Choir, Youth Worship Band, and Orchestra, Crystal was asked to teach a friend to play basic guitar chords. Her friend’s brother, who has Down Syndrome, joined the class, and Crystal realised that she wanted to pursue music therapy for those with special needs.

 

Crystal completed a Diploma in Child Psychology before her time at LASALLE. Now, in addition to writing songs and performing regularly, she is a part of a new four-piece pop band called Cosmical. Through LASALLE, Crystal has been able to experiment with different genres in her original music. While she is not set on a particular genre, Crystal aims to create an environment for those around her to have fun and be authentic both onstage and off.

 

After LASALLE, Crystal will be doing her Master’s in Music Therapy in Australia and plans to return to Singapore to start her own inclusive music school.
